About

One of my favorite moments in life is when the lights go down in the theater. Everything gets quiet and I happily think, “Someone is going to tell me a story!”

For more than 30 years I have loved working in video with its compelling ability to tell stories. From behind-the-scenes of major motion pictures (Showtime Networks), to groundbreaking works in the performing arts (Cal Performances), to life changing stories from the classroom (AileyCamp, California Jazz Conservatory, Berkeley Public Schools Fund), I have told many stories. The human story is always interesting. I am a producer/director: part storyteller, part voyeur, and a champion of people’s creative journeys.

I began working as a script supervisor for Showtime Networks in New York City in 1985. Within a year, I was producing short-form segments with artists from Ron Howard and Harrison Ford to Little Richard and Joe Bob Briggs. I moved to the West Coast where I produced stories for The History Channel, CourtTV and Discovery Channel. I worked with historians, homicide detectives and a variety of earthly and unearthly beings.

In my dozen years at Cal Performances, the performing arts center at UC Berkeley, I have had the good fortune to produce more than 70 stories with celebrated luminaries such as Yo-Yo Ma, Laurie Anderson, Mark Morris, Mikhail Baryshnikov, and Wu Man, to name only a few.

My strength is my ability to listen and ask the right questions. I guide organizations and individuals through the production process from the first critical step of deciding if video is the best way to tell their story through screening the final segment.

I work with some of the top videographers, sound techs and editors in the Bay Area. I build a team that is right for each project.
